Topic: SQL overview for students with beginner knowledge in Python
Date: February 25, 2025
Context: I was invited to be a guest instructor for ECO225: Big Data Tools for Economists by Professor Nazanin Khazra. Drawing from my six years of experience in the private sector (working as a management consultant and product owner in the financial services industry), I put together a 2-hour interactive lesson to provide students with a foundation in SQL and provide them with additional resources to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the language.
Files: available here, including the course syllabus, my presentation slides, the Jupyter notebook I created to walk through in class, the homework I assigned students, and the associated rubric.
